The PM, Theresa May, has promised to make it her ‘personal mission’ to increase the number of houses built in the UK.
Earlier this week she visited a housing development in Barnet, and stated, “we must get back into the business of building good quality new homes, [especially] for people who need them most.”
Later saying that the country has failed to build enough houses for years – thus leading to soaring prices.
“That is why I have made it my mission to build the homes the country needs”, later suggesting that she’s taking personal charge of the Government’s response.
“In the coming weeks and months, my Government will be going further to ensure that we build more homes – efficient and quickly.”
“This will be a long journey and it will take time for us to fix the broken housing market, but I am determined to build a Britain fit for the future.”
